Show Dog Saturday

Breed:  Beauceron

Mom makes dog clothes for a living.  This handsome boy came by her booth and we thought he looked pretty cool!

This is a picture of a Beauceron without the clothes on.  He is pretty nice looking.  We were wondering what kind of dog he is, so Mom checked it out.  Here's what she found.

A Beauceron is a herding dog that came from France.  It was apparently used to develop the Doberman Pinscher (who knew) and is related to the Briard, another herding dog from France. These guys are also used for guard duty as well as herding sheep.

There are not very many in the United States right now, but we hope to be seeing more of them soon.

Hope you have a happy Saturday!
